Vietnam's July arrivals improve

Vietnam National Administration of Tourism estimates the country welcomed 460,000 international travellers in July representing an improvement of 12.20% over 410,000 visits in the same month last year.

Vietnam provides details of just top 10 suppliers in its monthly report.

The Thai outbound market appeared in the ranking last May with 14,660 trips, down 28.49% from 18,837 visits during the same month in 2010. Since then it has dropped off the top 10 chart.

China continues as the top tourism supplier in July with 123,167 visits showing an improvement of 65.03% from 74,633 visits in 2010, followed by South Korea, US, Japan, Cambodia and Taiwan

Neighbouring Cambodia, gained fifth place supplying 41,242 visits and increasing 59.44% over 25,867 visits.

All of the top markets are in the Asia/Pacific region with the exception of the United States and France.

From January to July, arrivals reached 3,425,820 visits improving 17.30% from 2,920,521 over the same period last year.

The bulk of arrivals in July (380,000) passed through the two main aviation gateways Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City.
