Tourism boss meets officials

The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Bosengkham Vongdara met tourism officials in a meeting held here August 1.

The meeting is the first time for the Minister since he took the post as Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism and since the Ministry of Information and Culture was renamed as Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

Mr. Bosengkham highlighted the necessity of having tourism administration made under his supervision saying that it was to meet the requirement of the tourism sector in the next years which offered both challenges and opportunities as competition in the world tourism market was increasing.

He said that the merging of the tourism affairs with the ministry of information and culture was in accordance with the policy of the party and government in achieving the four breakthrough set forth in the resolution of the ninth Party Congress aiming to achieve in unlocking and addressing the characteristics of dogmatism, human resource development, improving government regulations and poverty reduction.

Mr. Bosengkham urged the officials to further their solidarity and promote their strong points, address their weaknesses and improve their working condition.
