ASEAN Reporters are Expected to Promote Jakarta Tourism

Jakarta as a metropolitan city is not only promising big business opportunities, but also interesting to be visited by tourists. Therefore, the presence of 9 reporters from ASEAN countries are expected can be able to promote Jakarta tourism so that foreign tourists visit could increase.

Those 9 reporters are from Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Philippine, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand. “It is one of the programs to learn about Indonesia, especially Jakarta tourism,” said Foreign Affairs Ministry Functional Official, Chandra Hasan, at the City Hall, Monday (10/17).

Besides visiting Jakarta, the reporters will also visit tourism regions in Indonesia, namely Bangka Belitung and Bali. “They will be brought to see several iconic tourism places since this is their first time visit to Jakarta,” he continued.

Sukesti Martono as Jakarta Governor Deputy for Tourism and Culture who received the nine reporters also invited them to visit Kota Tua, Ancol Dreamland Park, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), as well as National Monument (Monas) which are main tourism places in Jakarta. “There are a lot of tourism places in Jakarta,” he expressed.

Besides focusing on tourism in Jakarta, the 9 reporters are also interested with congestion handling and transportation in Jakarta, such as the presence of 3 in 1 jockey and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction. On the other hand, the implementation of SEA Games which scheduled to be held in Jakarta and Palembang is also become their material questions.
