Japan Airlines will suspend flights between Osaka and Hanoi, next week, but will continue to offer the service via a code share agreement with Vietnam Airlines.
JAL?s Osaka-Hanoi service ends 11 January, while the code share flights on this route with Vietnam Airlines begin 13 January.
Through the arrangement, JAL is able to maintain a network of seven routes to Vietnam with 33 weekly round-trip flights .
The airline operates flights from Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, while offering code share flights with Vietnam Airlines on Osaka-Ho Chi Minh City, Fukuoka-Ho Chi Minh City, Fukuoka-Hanoi, and Nagoya?Hanoi routes.
The latest figure on the website of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism shows 326,274 Japanese arrivals during 11 months of last year, up 91.1% from the same period in 2008.
