The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has launched its new campaign to attract Chinese tourists on Wednesday, reported The Straits Times.
The New Discoveries campaign that was launched in Beijing will focus on specific needs of Chinese consumers, resulting in 'more targeted and integrated marketing campaigns that will comprise public relations, above and below-the-line advertising and digital marketing', said STB in a media statement.
STB found that an increasing number of Chinese nationals have started to travel to Singapore independently, and will collaborate with three major travel agencies in China to launch a series of packaged tours under the New Discoveries campaign.
The three tour agencies named in the report by The Straits Times are GZL International Travel Service, CYTS and Ctrip.
Travellers who visit Singapore under these packaged tours will be able to personalise their itinerary, while also enjoying pre-arranged flight and accommodation options.
The new method of marketing Singapore will be introduced to other countries, including Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The launch event was held at Beijing's 798 art district, and local singer Stefanie Sun was present to talk about her favourite spots in Singapore.
