Bangkok Airways announced, last week, a code-share agreement with Silk Air on certain flights between Singapore, Samui Island, Phuket and Chiang Mai, effective 15 February.
Bangkok Airways president Capt.Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, commented: “This agreement allows passengers of both airlines to benefit from greater connectivity and flexibility when making their travel plans. From a business perspective, the agreement enables both SilkAir and Bangkok Airways to expand their respective networks and grow both inbound and outbound passenger flows.”
“We are pleased to announce this code-share partnership with Bangkok Airways. With enhanced connectivity, customers now have the freedom to embark on a multiple-destination holiday within Thailand,” said SilkAir chief executive, Marvin Tan.
Bangkok Airways was Thailand’s first private airline established in 1968. The airline provides about 100 daily flights a day from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Bangkok Airways flies travellers from around the world to more than twenty destinations across Thailand and Asia.
SilkAir currently flies to 38 destinations across 11 countries and is the regional wing of Singapore Airlines.
Bangkok Airway also code-shares with Thai International on certain routes.
