JK Tourism Department in its efforts to bring the high segment outbound tourists to the state, promoted golf and adventure tourism at a three-day event at New Delhi.
The event that concluded today saw international participation from countries like UAE, Mauritius, Thailand and Malaysia, besides domestic players in the golf, conference and adventure tourism were present.
The three-day event received many celebrities including former Indian cricketer Azhar ud Din and actor Neena Gupta.
The celebrities showed their keenness to know about Kashmir and expressed interest to visit the place, a spokesman of tourism department said.
Director Tourism Department, Farooq A Shah on the occasion said: “We have world class infrastructure now for hosting international events.”
“The 18 hole Royal Springs Golf Course, 16 hole Pahalgam Golf Course, Gulmarg Golf Course and one in Jammu are the best attractions for any golf lover.”
“In Leh we are developing the golf facilities soon, other than this we have many smaller golf facilities which are comparable to the best in the country,” he said.
The director tourism said: “In adventure tourism the white water rafting in Kashmir and Ladakh, trekking and heli skiing can attract any adventure tourist from across the globe.”
The event received good response from the visitors who were given information and literature on different tourism products and services by the officials present and a group who visited from different embassies was shown a presentation on Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, the spokesperson added.
