“From the GCC, most of our visitors are from Saudi Arabia, followed by those from the UAE. Considering the large flow of visitors from the GCC, during this Ramadan, hotels will serve Arabic and special Ramadan foods across the country,” he added.
“Ramadan and summer vacation will be coming together this time,” he noted.
To attract more visitors from the region, a 129-member tourism trade delegation from Malaysia is participating in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center in the UAE from April 30 April to May 3,” said Razali Tuan Omar, director Tourism Malaysia-Dubai.
“Malaysia’s participation in ATM is our commitment and efforts in attracting more tourists, particularly from West Asia,” Tuan Razali added.
Headed by Tourism Malaysia’s Director for International Marketing Division (South Asia/West Asia/Africa), Zulkifly M. Saed, the delegation will comprise 76 government and private sector organizations, which include 43 hotels, 22 travel and tour operators, 7 state governments, and 4 tourism product operators.
“The country recorded 24.7 million tourist arrivals last year with a 0.6 percent growth compared to the previous year,” he added.
