Tourism Australia has teamed up with Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to sharpen the destination?s appeal, particularly to attract first-time visitors. The ?Only in Oz Holidays? campaign launched yesterday to boost Australia?s appeal over rival destinations will feature the launch of air and ground packages at this weekend?s MATTA Fair for consumers in Kuala Lumpur. Australian deals at the fair will kick off with MAS? all-inclusive fares from as low as RM649 (US$195) to Australia, while Aussie Specialist agents will provide ground packages with savings between A$100 (US$91.50) and A$150 per person to selected Australian destinations, such as Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Tasmania, Perth and Adelaide. The travel period is until September 30. Malaysia is currently Australia's seventh largest market with 2009 arrivals of 211,500, a rise of 24 per cent over 2008.
