A record number of foreign tourists visited Spain during the first seven months of 2012, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism reported on Wednesday.
Spain has so far received a total of 32.8 million foreign visitors this year, a 3.3 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
In July, especially, Spain received 7.7 million international tourists, mainly from Germany and France. This represents a 4.4 percent increase from July 2011.
Catalonia received the most visitors in July with 26.3 percent of the arrivals.
Tourism in Spain enjoyed a boost in 2011 due to turmoil in the Arab world, with travellers and holidaymakers choosing Spain over the troubled region for holidays.
