BANGKOK, 28 August 2012: Thai Hotels Association will host its annual congress, 5 to 6 September, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
Thailand’s 14th Hospitality Industry Congress has adopted the agenda “Tourism’s Opportunities & Trends in 2015”. It is part of the exhibition Food & Hotel Thailand 2012, which has been held over the last three years at the Siam Paragon.
However, this year the organisers changed the venue to BITEC on Bangna-Trad Road to attract a bigger audience than was possible at the Siam Paragon Hall.
There are three distinct sessions with different themes: Opportunities for Thai Investment in ASEAN; Thai Tourism in 2015: Forecasts on Thai Tourism and hotel trends after ASEAN Economic Community is launched.
On day one four speakers are lined up:
• Open the treasure box “terms of investment in the hotel business and labour mobility in each ASEAN country,” by the Bureau of Trade in Services and Investment under the Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce;
• Barriers, love, fulfillment, experience, recommendations for new investors,” by Amari Estates president and CEO, Yuthachai Charanachita;
• Money, important matters “support policy and know how, investment in hotels in ASEAN,” by Kasikorn Bank;
• Opportunities and risks, ideas, perspectives, advantages and disadvantages for Thai investors in an ASEAN economy,” by THA honorary advisor, Udom Srimahachota.
On day two, the morning session will feature three topics:
• Past to future of Thai Tourism by C9 Hotelworks Company managing director, Bill Barnett;
• Confidence in Thai Tourism by Thai AirAsia CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld;
• Guru teller: “what will Thai tourism be in 2015,” from three emerging markets such as the Russian market by Pegas or Tez Tour, Indian market Billion Destinations Company managing director, Pisit Ratanachetkul and the China market by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
In the afternoon sessions three speakers discuss hotel trends.
Session two will be bilingual (Thai and English), while the others will be in Thai language only.
THA members pay Bt1,000 (per session), Bt1,700 ( two sessions) and Bt2,400 ( three sessions) while non-members pay Bt1,400, Bt2,600 and Bt3,600 respectively.
Overseas participants pay a fee of US$50 to US$120 depending on the sessions booked. For university students admission is free except for master degree students and teachers who get a 50% discount off the normal rate. All rates are VAT excluded.
