Taipei, Aug. 28 (CNA) A team of experts departed for Thailand and Cambodia Tuesday to help Taiwanese businessmen there improve their technology and management, as well as to inspect the investment environment, Ministry of Economic Affairs officials said that day.

The 42-member delegation, led by Chiu Yi-cheh, director-general of the ministry's department of investment services, comprises 28 domestic manufacturers and Taiwanese businesses with operations in Vietnam in the fields of textiles, electronics and machinery, plastics and finance.

The delegation will have meetings in Bangkok and Phnom Penh with businessmen in the two countries.

In addition, experts will inspect the investment environment and exchange views with local manufacturers in Cambodia to help Taiwanese businessmen better understand demand and their potential advantages in Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets.

Cambodia posted 6.9 percent economic growth in 2011, mainly supported by agriculture, garment manufacturing and tourism, according to the ministry.

The World Bank has forecast that Cambodia's economy will grow 6.6 percent in 2012 and 6.7 percent in 2013 to become one of the countries with the fastest economic growth rates over the past decade, the ministry said.
