(VOV) - A delegation from the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association paid a visit to the northern province of Ninh Binh on September 23 as part of activities to mark the two countries’ Friendship Year 2012 and 45 years of their diplomatic ties.
Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Nam welcomed the visit as a meaningful activity to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
He introduced Ninh Binh’s socio-economic development achievements and its tourist attractions, saying the province is seeking the UNESCO title World Natural Heritage for its Trang An eco-tourist complex.
The association presented gifts to six Vietnamese war veterans who volunteered to fight with Cambodian people during their past war and awarded scholarships to 64 Cambodian students who are studying in Vietnam.
They visited Bai Dinh pagoda where several Asian and Vietnamese records were set.
Second Secretary of the Cambodian embassy Keo Bunrith joined the delegation.
