JAL announces temporary adjustments to flight frequency on select international routes

TOKYO, Japan - Japan Airlines (JAL) announced on September 21, 2012, a temporary reduction in flight frequencies on three routes; Narita=Beijing, Narita=Pudong and Kansai=Pudong, for the period between October 10 and 27, 2012, in response to the changes in travel demand to and from China.

As future booking forecasts do no indicate recovery in the immediate short-term following the initial temporary schedule adjustment, the airline has decided to extend the revised schedule on the same routes to include the period from October 28 to November 17, 2012.

While operations have decreased, the temporary schedule still provides a minimum of one daily flight on each of the routes affected, thereby maintaining the connections for the convenience of its customers. To effectively manage cost and to minimize the impact on profits, JAL is swiftly adjusting flight frequencies to match capacity with sudden changes in demand.

Customers with reservations on the affected flights below will be contacted for further details about change in reservations and ticket handling. JAL expects to return to the normal schedule from November 18. Customers will be notified again in the event there are additional adjustments made in the future.
