MARIVELES, Bataan — Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Chairman and Administrator Deogracias G.P. Custodio represented the Philippines in the recently concluded “Invest in ASEAN: Promotion Conference on Asean Industrial Park” of the 9th China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, China where he courted foreign investors to invest in Bataan Freeport.
“Promoting trade and investment activities between and among China and the ASEAN Countries provide more avenues for growth and economic development,” Custodio said.
“The CAEXPO is a fitting platform to launch investment, trade and business activities for the benefit of everybody in China and the ASEAN Nations,” he added.
Custodio presented the Philippine Investment Promotion Plan and its 8 preferred industries —Agro-Industrial, BPO, Global Electronics and Semiconductors, Energy Sector, Logistic, Mining, Shipbuilding and Tourism.
The AFAB chairman also reported the developments and improved investment conditions in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), leveraging the FAB’s unique set of advantages — a dedicated power supply via GN Power which will operate by the end of this year and supply the FAB with cheap electricity; a dam capable of providing abundant and low cost water; a sewerage treatment plant to safeguard the environment; and suitable industrial lands with low lease rates.
