PHUKET, 20 December 2012: The beach party saga continues as the organisers say they may move the event to Patong bay after two hotels on Surin bay demanded compensation of at least Bt3.5 million, Phuket News reported, yesterday.

Sydictive representatives confirmed to the local press they are exploring the option of moving the event to Patong Beach, saying with just a week to go they can no longer afford to negotiate with Surin Beach hoteliers who oppose the event.

They are studying  engineering options for the show stage and other equipment and talking to local officials to gain approval.

The shock move came following meetings with two general managers of hotels on Surin Beach who demanded compensation.

One hotel, demanded Bt3.5 million as the “strict minimum” required to ensure that it was compensated for losses, while another hotel requested around Bt2 million.

“The two hotels have almost 100% occupancy – we know this based upon the booking information they showed us at the meeting,” a Sydictive representative said. “
