YANGON, 29 March 2013: Over 100 of the world’s biggest brands are set to display their products at the first ever hospitality, food and beverage industry exhibition in Myanmar in November.
MYANFOOD / MYANHOTEL 2013 is billed as the country’s first official hospitality and F&B trade show to be held in the commercial capital 6 to 8 November.
The organisers, Ambexpo, are calling it an exclusive business-to-business event that the organisers say will attract 8,000 visitors mainly decision makers from hotels, restaurants, bistros, café, caterers, supermarkets, convenience stores, clubs, pubs and food retailers.
The event will be held at the Tatmadaw Exhibition Hall in Yangon and is being promoted as a platform for hotel supply and hotel investors to check out what is Asia’s newest hospitality market.
Executives at Ambexo said the event would also give hotel investors an opportunity to update information and assess opportunities for hotel expansion in the country.
Experts are saying Myanmar is now the new emerging market for hotel expansion and one of the few remaining markets in Asia that is opening up to foreign investments and management on a massive scale. They talk about getting in on the ground floor. Hilton, Accor and Besgt Western are already well on the way to establishing a strong foothold other regional chains will follow.
