A hotel is meant to be a home away from home, allowing guests to be comfortable in unfamiliar places and use the amenities as if they were their own.
Yet accodring to a recent survey, some guests are taking this experience one step further and bringing their hotel comforts back home.
Whilst 65 percent of respondents said that stealing from hotels is not on their holiday to-do list, 35 percent admitted to pocketing an item or two, according to a survey conducted by Hotels.com.
Not including toiletries, the most common items to take home as souvenirs were in-room magazines, books, linens and towels.
The more adventurous travellers managed to take home bathrobes, pillows, electronics, irons and even in-room furniture such as lamps or alarm clocks.
Travellers were however willing to pay for some hotel features which included a room with a view (29 percent) and a balcony (17 percent).
Out of the nations surveyed, the Danes were the most honest with 88 percent saying that they had never stolen from their hotel rooms, followed by the Dutch (85 percent) and the Norwegians (84 percent).
Columbians were the most likely to admit to theft with 43 percent admitting to taking an item or two, followed by Mexicans (60 percent) and Indians (62 percent).
Australians ranked 19th (out of 29) with 72 percent of those surveyed saying that they had pinched an item.
