Qatar Airways turns its Bali flight into a non-stop service

DENPASAR - Bali is still a favourite among world travellers with 3.27 million international visitors reaching its shores in 2013 and probably 3.5 million this year. The top contributing inboun markets for Bali are Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, France, the UK and the US.

The rise in international tourism is supported by a rise in international flights and additional capacity. The decision of Qatar Airways to transform its direct flight from Doha to Bali into a non-stop one is another indicator of the popularity of the destination.

According to Qatar Airways, the carrier will commence its ten-hour non-stop daily service between Doha and Bali from July 21, 2014. And in October 2014 the five-star carrier is planning to put into service its newest aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Initially, the Bali route will be operated with an Airbus A330. The dreamliner will offer 254 seats in a two class configuration with 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.

Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, said: “The start of non-stop services from Doha to Bali offers travelers from around the world access to the popular leisure destination in a reduced time, from across our expanding global network. We are delighted to confirm that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will operate on this route from later this year, offering the very latest in design and comfort to passengers who wish to travel on this non-stop route from the Middle East.”

The schedule of Qatar Airways new Bali service will go as follows:
• QR 962 departs Doha (DOH) at 02:35 arriving in Bali (DPS) at 17:35
• QR 963 departs Bali (DPS) at 19:35 arriving in Doha (DOH) at 23:59
