BANGKOK : Global hotel price search and comparison website, trivago, has launched local platforms in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, to enable more travellers to source hotels at competitive prices.
The sites, trivago Indonesia (www.trivago.co.id), trivago Malaysia (www.trivago.com.my), and trivago Thailand (www.trivago.co.th), are available in local languages and in English.
This expansion in Southeast Asia, following trivago Singapore’s launch, last year, gives the company 47 global markets in 28 languages.
The company’s head of Asia Pacific operations, Robin Harries, noted trivago now operates in 10 countries in the region. “The potential of almost 200 million Southeast Asian Internet users cannot be ignored. We see interesting, but also challenging markets with high growth rates in the travel sector and are keen to roll out our activities over there.”
The site compares rates from over 700,000 hotels on over 150 booking sites, worldwide, at no cost to users.
Over 45 million visitors per month find hotels by using trivago’s various filters and in turn save an average of 35% per booking. trivago integrates over 82 million hotel reviews and 14 million photos in order to make finding hotels easier for users.
The trivago App is available for iOS and Android devices.
