Air New Zealand flies to Argentina

Air New Zealand will launch a new non-stop service to Argentina later this year.

Commencing on 1 December 2015, the new Auckland-Buenos Aires route will mark Air New Zealand’s first ever scheduled service to South America.

Flights will run three times a week (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays) using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft offering business, premium economy and economy classes, including the airline’s ‘SkyCouch‘ concept that converts rows of three economy class seats into a flat bed.

“We’re thrilled to be making South America accessible to Kiwis for business and holiday travel with a non-stop service that will have them in Buenos Aires city in less than 12 hours,” said Air New Zealand’s chief sales & commercial officer, Cam Wallace.

“The distance between New Zealand and Buenos Aires has seemed daunting for travellers in the past with indirect routings and long layovers meaning a total travel time of anywhere from 15 to 30 hours.

“We’re… closing the gap between New Zealand and this exciting destination, making it more accessible to everyone.”

Subject to regulatory approvals, Air New Zealand will also offer onward connections from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, through a codeshare partnership with Aerolineas Argentinas. The Argentine national carrier will also codeshare on the Buenos Aires-Auckland service, as well as on trans-Tasman services to Sydney and Melbourne.
