Air Astana has launched a new service connecting Kazakhstan’s capital Astana with Paris.

The new route commenced on 29 March 2015 and will now operate three times a week, continuing onwards to and from Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city.

Flights will now depart Almaty every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1100, arriving in Astana at 1235 and Paris at 1705. The return flights will leave the French capital on the same days at 1955, before arriving in Astana at 0605 and Almaty at 0855.

Air Astana will operate a Boeing 757 on the route, configured with 16 seats in business class and 150 in economy. And passengers will also be able to select Air Astana’s new ‘Economy Sleeper Class’, which converts a row of three economy class seats into a flat bed, complete with mattress, pillow and duvet.

“The new service to Paris is a major step in developing Air Astana’s European network and serves to strengthen economic, diplomatic, cultural and tourism links between France and Kazakhstan,” said Peter Foster, president of Air Astana.

Air Astana now operates a network of 64 international and domestic routes from its hubs in Astana, Almaty and Atyrau.
