New flights connects China with Copenhagen

Beijing Capital Airlines has embarked on its first ever long-haul flights, connecting two Chinese cities with Copenhagen.Beijing Capital Airlines celebrates the launch of flights to Copenhagen

The airline, which is a subsidiary of HNA Group, commenced services from Hangzhou to Copenhagen on 3 September, then launched a new Beijing-Copenhagen flight on 6 September.

These new routes mark not only Beijing Capital Airlines’ first European flights, but also the first services directly linking the Danish capital with mainland China.

The carrier will now operate two weekly service to Copenhagen, with a Thursday departure from Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan International Airport and a Sunday flight from Beijing’s Capital International Airport.

Both routes will be operated using the airline’s first ever twin-aisle aircraft, a 222-seat Airbus A330, which is configured with 36 seats in business class and 186 in economy.

Beijing Capital Airlines currently operates 51 aircraft on domestic and short-haul international routes, mainly serving the leisure market. But the carrier plans to build a long-haul fleet of 30 A330 and A350 aircraft over the next five years, allowing it to embark on new international routes to Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.
