DOHA, QATAR Qatar Airways and British Airways’ parent company, International Airlines Group released details, Wednesday, of an extensive joint business agreement that will come into effect 30 October.
The agreement promises a wider choice of flights, an improved network, more fare options and benefits for members of the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes.
Qatar Airways and British Airways claim they will provide passengers with better links and seamless travel between the UK, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
The core feature is a code-share accord on all nonstop flights between the UK and Doha, that offers considerable financial benefits for the two airlines. They will offer seven daily nonstop services in both directions under the code-share agreement.
Qatar Airways’ A380 currently serves the Doha and London Heathrow route.
British Airways claim the agreement will benefit customers by giving them access to more destinations through Qatar Airways’ extensive network.
It will also strengthen the Oneworld alliance and enable it to compete more effectively on the included routes creating greater competition and increased options for consumers.
