According to the airline, the new route will offer two weekly flights on Thursday and Sunday.
Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal and the second largest city in India (after Mumbai).
India is a strong tourism source market for Myanmar. An estimated 34,628 Indian travellers visited the country last year, an increase of 2.66% over 2014. Overland travel is increasing, but the bulk of the travel is by air to Myanmar’s commercial capital, Yangon.
