QUANG TRI Quang Tri province plans to turn a former wartime shelter, Brai Cave, into a tourist attraction.
The province’s People’s Committee chairman, Nguyen Duc Chinh, ordered the tourism department to devise a plan and seek advice from foreign experts after a survey of Brai Cave, last week.
“It’s vital to have a scientific and detailed plan before tourists are allowed to visit the cave, in order to prevent it from being damaged,” he said.
inside no 3The cave was uncovered in 2012, located around 120 km west of Dong Ha Town. It was used as a refuge for Vietnamese soldiers during the Second Indochina War, late 1960s to early 1970s.
The 800-metre cave boasts massive clusters of stalactites and stalagmites in various shapes and colours.
