The idea of the day is to promote awareness and change in the behaviour of those who are involved in the travel and tourism industry. The main venue is at the World Travel Market in London, and Siem Reap is just one of many locations that will be holding events in conjunction with this.

The organisers will be working closely with tour operators and hotels as well as various charities to highlight the work that they do and talk about the impact of the tourism industry on local communities, encouraging the two to work together to create a more positive atmosphere. The events in Siem Reap are also intended to promote an international awareness of arts in Cambodia.

There are many Siem Reap hotels for visitors to choose from in all budget ranges. Visitors can choose from hostel type accommodation which is comfortable but basic, or opt for the luxury end of the market. As the events are taking place across Siem Reap, you will never be far away from an event no matter where you are staying, though the local buses can take you to most parts of town.

The Head of Marketing at DirectRooms.com, Lek Boonlert, said, “This event is expected to attract thousands of visitors from all over the world so booking accommodation early is essential if you want to avoid disappointment.”
