Jim Cline Photo Tours is offering the unique opportunity of a lifetime for some, an Angkor Photo Workshop at Angkor WatCambodia Khmer temples of Angkor.

The Angkor Workshop participants will receive lectures, one-on-one instructions, assignments, and a general exploration of all things photographic during their journey. Learning and applying skills onto a subject of unparalleled beauty and historic significance, what more adventurous photography adventure could there be?

A Bit About Angkor

As a location for shooting, its hard to imagine a more photogenic, adventurous, or significant subject than Siem Reap, Cambodia and the temples of Angkor. The legacy of one of the world's greatest ancient civilizations, the Khmer Empire, is nothing if not awe inspiring.

From the 9th to 15th Centuries the Khmer Hindu monarch declared themselves god kings and ruled all of the region from these fabulous palaces and temples. If you ever saw the movie Tomb Raider, or a dozen others, the majestic beauty and mystery of this place must have touched you. Angkor was actually the largest pre-industrialandnbsp; city in the world.

Your Hosts

Jim Cline is an award-winning travel photographer from San Diego, California. Renowned for his willingness and ability to create images of extraordinary impact. Capturing the places and essence of culture in them, about the world, this is Jims effort to transcend ordinary photography. As you can see in the images included, place is imprinted literally with the person and tradition.

The tour leader for this photo excursion will be none other than Karl Grobl, Jim's partner and one of the world's most respected photographic talents. Karl's humanitarian efforts, along with his documentation of humane projects and subject around the world, have stamped his name indelibly into the fabric of quality photography.

Karl has shot for some 80 different NGOs in over 50 countries. His wonderful photos capture the human side of triumph and tragedy, many of them appearing in such publications as; Newsweek, on CNN, Geo, Town and Country magazine and The Chronicle of Philanthropy. The image below is from a relief effort to Cuba shoot, capturing the essence of place and humanity as you can see.

The Sum of All Coolness

Joining Grobl on such a Cambodian adventure, it goes without saying, not many photo ops for the budding travel photographer could equal this. For the rest of the crew of photographers who will join you in Cambodia, visit the team page of Jims website here. Be advised also, that there are currently only three places left for this opportunity. You can get reserved, check other photo workshops and tours, and or contact Jim via the links here tooandnbsp; or alternatively, click on the photos above.

On a final note, one thing I really like about these photo tours is the way Jim and his team have tried to include for their guests as much information as it possible about the journey. Helpful packing hints, health and safety concerns, the equipment needed for the workshops, you name it, and they have touched on the data even from within their website. This has to be one of the coolest guided tours anywhere, let us know what you think.
