Minister of Tourism Presides Over Tourism Transportation Service's Inauguration

Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon presided over the inauguration of Naga World Tourism Transportation Service here on Mar. 21.

Addressing at the inauguration ceremony, H.E. Thong Khon said the good cooperation between neighboring countries is the key factor to absorb tourists.

H.E. Minister also said the tourism field is considered as one of the prioritized sectors for socio-economic development and poverty reduction through job creation, income increase, etc.

According to a report of the Ministry of Tourism, some 2,88 million foreign tourists visited Cambodia in 2011, up 15 percent if compared to 2010.

The report also showed that the tourism field generated about US$1,912 million for the State or 12 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and provided jobs to some 350,000 people in the country.
