Continuing effort of Phnom Penh Municipality to address increasing traffic congestion will soon bring about sub-way under Tonle Sap Lake, said a municipal official.
Cambodia’s rapid economic growth makes Phnom Penh busier than it ever was. The capital currently accommodates almost two millions of the country’s population. Traffic issue is becoming more complicated.
To address this, the capital’s third sky-bridge is being constructed at another most congested area, Stung Meanchey – at the Southwest.
A recent visit of Phnom Penh municipal delegation to a sub-way under Saigon river, Vietnam, inspired similar initiative to ease the traffic of Phnom Penh.
The sub-way will not only further solve traffic issue, but be inviting more tourists to the charming capital of Phnom Penh, added the official.
