A delegation from Brunei Darussalam, along with those from Asean member states, is currently in Siam Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia, to attend the Trial of Civilisation and Art Performance 2010, which is a multi-cultural event hosted by the Cambodian government.
The Brunei delegation is led by Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, and officials from Brunei Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
According to a press release, a tree planting ceremony was held at the Angkor area for all ministers and heads of delegation to commemorate the event.
The Trial of Civilisation and Art Performance is an annual event bringing together Asean countries in a symbol of friendship, cooperation integration and peace.
The event aims to strengthen cooperation and partnership in cultural tourism as well as capitalise on the high value of Asean's cultural heritage.
Brunei Darussalam's performance during the event includes representatives from the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awang Hj Yahya as well as other Asean ministers were granted an audience by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, the King of Cambodia, at the Royal Cambodian Palace in Phonm Penh on April 29.
