A tour of south-east Asia might not be complete without a visit to Cambodia as a travel writer has been extolling its virtues.Daily Telegraph journalist Natalie Paris has revealed some of the country?s main attractions. The Khmer temple complex at Angkor attracts around two million individuals each year and the nation?s tourism industry has made strides to ensure tourists get the most out of visits to the area.
In the surrounding jungle there can be found a number of extra highlights, including the "majestic" corncob towers, the lily pond moat of Angkor Wat and hundreds of carved faces at Bayon. Those in search of something a little more urban could try out Phnom Penh, which is a city that is home to trendy bars and boutique shops, as well as the Royal Palace. Design and engineering company Scott Wilson recently carried out an environmental survey of the Cambodian island of Koh Rong in an attempt to make the region more environmentally-friendly.
