BANGKOK Airports of Thailand reports September data showed increases in both aircraft movements and passengers at the six airports under its management.
AoT reported, Monday, that all of its supervised airports served 7,720,738 passengers up 15.13% from 6,705,882 during the same month last year.
The overall airports’ aircraft movements also increased by 19.07% from 47,670 to 56,761.
During the first nine months of the year, the country’s main gateway Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport welcomed 39.48 million passengers followed by Don Mueang with 21.92 million and Phuket 9.47 million. Chiang Mai Airport handled 6.07 million passengers.

inside no 3 Suvarnabhumi Airport registered an increase of 12.53% in international aircraft movements from 16,861 to 18,974, while domestic movements up 4.83% from 5,258 to 5,512 movements.
International passenger traffic increased 4.83% from 2,843,265 to 2,980,562, while domestic passengers increased 9.16% from 544,734 to 594,614. Overall, it accounted for a 5.52% increase in passengers from 3,387,999 to 3,575,176.
The second aviation gateway, Don Mueang Airport, recorded a 40.31% increase in international aircraft movements from 3,748 to 5,259. Domestic movements posted a 32.16% improvement from 9,562 to 12,637.
International passenger traffic increased 32.65% from 507,523 to 673,204, while domestic passengers increased 31.48% from 1,225,514 to 1,611,315.
Chiang Mai International Airport continued to show growth in September. Both international and domestic aircraft movements registered double-digit increases of 35.67% (886 to 1,202) and 23.87% (2,979 to 3,690).
International passenger traffic grew 39.80% from 93,323 to 130,467, while domestic traffic gained 22.87% from 381,486 to 468,722.
Phuket International Airport registered an increase of 11.81% in international aircraft movements from 2,939 to 3,286, while domestic aircraft movements improved 17.06% from 2,866 to 3,355.
International passenger traffic increased 9.91% from 416,502 to 457,791, while domestic traffic improved 17.48% from 342,627 to 402,528.
Chiang Rai International Airport reported an increase in aircraft movements of 21.05% from 779 to 943, while passenger traffic grew 35.45% from 90,566 to 122,670.
Hat Yai International Airport reported aircraft movements increased 6.19% from 1,792 to 1,903 in September. Meanwhile, overall passenger traffic registered a 7.11% growth from 260,342 to 278,865 passengers. inside-no-3.1
