Vietnam to ground unruly passengers

HANOI  Vietnam will blacklist passengers who cause disruptions at airport terminals or during flights.
They will be grounded under new regulations that officials say have a zero tolerance for disruptive passenger behavior.
Officials said flight security on Vietnamese carriers was a priority to maintain the country’s image as a safe destination.
Local media reported the new regulation, identified as Decree 92/2015 of the revised Law on Civil Aviation of Vietnam, was issued by the government, last week.inside no 2
inside no 2It will come into effect, 27 December. Offenders will be banned from flying for three to 12 months for a variety of offenses.
Longer bans, up to two years or even a lifetime, are on the books for repeat offenders.
Under Article 11 of the decree, security officers will be equipped with appropriate weapons and support tools to subdue unruly passengers.
In case of any intervention that occurs on flights, officers will take action to ensure flight safety.working in cooperation with flight crews.
Immediately after being informed of flight safety incidents, carriers must report incidents to relevant airport authorities and airport emergency rescue units so necessary measures can be taken to ensure flight security, according to the regulation.
