Exotissimo Travel announced, Wednesday, it will add Japan to its portfolio that has so far specialised in offering travel packages to just six Southeast Asia destinations.Located in Minato a business district in Tokyo, the new office will handle ground arrangements for Japan tours sold through Exotissimo’s network.

It will start operations with six local and expatriate staff, expanding to 10 by the end of the year.Exotissimo Travel group product and marketing manager, Louise Nathan told TTR Weekly there was a “lack of inbound DMCs in Japan that had a similar experience and positioning to Exotissimo.”
The company is already selling packages that will be handled by the Japanese office, but “1 March will be the official opening of Exotissimo Japan” along with a launch of online travel products on the company’s website featuring tour options in Japan.Sales for Japan tours, during 2011, should reach 275 million Yen or EU2.5 million and double that by 2012, according to Ms Nathan.
Exotissimo Travel is a destination management company that until now has specialised in customised tours to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Indonesia.Established in 1993, the company has a network of 17 offices with over 500 staff. Sales offices are located in San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Melbourne.
