Ltd, hosted an event to create synergy amongst the hospitality community about the cloud-based PMS (Property Management System) Technology.

Influx of global brands in the Indian market has put a great deal of pressure on existing Indian players, who lack right technology and tools to up the ante, and take the competition head-on. They have been using traditional client-server models (also known as 'on-premise') that instead of helping hotels make the entire process tedious and difficult to handle.

Talking about the benefits and future of cloud technology, Aditya Sanghi, CEO and Co-founder, Hotelogix said, "With the rapid digitization happening in the travel industry, it's imperative for hoteliers to upgrade their operations to cloud-based solutions that will enable them to respond to the changing market dynamics. It's important they embrace this change to grow their businesses with the opportunities the online world comes with." Aditya goes on to say, "Delaying this switch, they are not just loosing ongoing business but also run the risk of being left behind in this competitive world."

Cloud computing, today, is enabling new business models, transforming business processes, changing market dynamics and, in some cases, creating new markets altogether. It is empowering the customers with a plethora of choices and gradually making legacy systems redundant. The experts at the event talked about various benefits of cloud-technology and how it is not just helping hotels manage better, but also earn revenue.

Here are the key takeaways from the three-day event:

  • Cloud helps hotels focus on core businesses and lets them differentiate their offerings instead of worrying about managing on-premise servers and software
  • The cost-effective cloud system centralizes hotel operations for efficient management
  • They enable hotels to have real-time MIS helping better and faster decisions
  • They allow centralized controls and guest history without any fear of system crashing or loss of vital information
  • Revenue management systems help drive pricing decisions based on LOS, day of the week patterns, seasonality et al.
  • Reputation management systems consolidate reviews happening across the globe in different cities and help hotels respond faster when a complaint is raised
