Joe Jackson, the father of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, has reportedly helped launch the construction of a new luxury entertainment complex in Hanoi, Vietnam, called Happyland. While speaking with local news sources, Jackson confirmed that he is a part investor in the $2 billion project and that he believes his son would have approved.

"[Michael] lived to make people happy and I am proud to maintain that, making Vietnamese people happier," he told an area television station. "My wish is to promote this project to all friends across the world so that they understand more about your country."

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan was also on hand at the ceremony and told crowds of onlookers that the project will be the "the largest tourism project in South Vietnam and Southeast Asia."

Jackson has specifically invested in a luxury hotel that will reportedly included 1000 rooms. He joins the projects lead investor, Vietnam's Khang Thong Group, who will also fund the construction of a water park, film studio, a riverfront boardwalk, theaters, restaurants, and other facilities.
