Life Heritage Resort Ha Long Bay unveiled three overnight itineraries, last week, using its own fleet of heritage junks to tour the UNESCO Natural Heritage Site.
The resort has 22 heritage junks that are used for three itineraries that offer different routes to the standard trips sold by Ha Long Bay boat operators.
Itineraries feature the eastern, central and western isles with stops at Cong Do Island, a floating primary school, Ha Long’s largest fishing village, Cat Ba National Park, followed by a sail through the international shipping channel along the mouth of the Gulf of Tonkin.
“We’ve taken our years of first-hand knowledge of the bay and these waters and distilled them into these three incomparable itineraries,” said Life Resort general manager, Chris Duffy.
By following the planned circuits, guests will sail in a different zone during each part of the voyage, staying in secluded anchorages overnight and avoiding back tracks on routes already sailed.
The longest circuit opens the eastern isles on the edge of the Gulf of Tonkin, circling Cong Do Island, while the central isles itinerary takes guests to the most-visited part of the bay, only a few minutes from Life Resort’s hub on Tuan Chau Island.
