Jet Airways late last week announced plans to lease out three of its Boeing aircraft to Thai Airways in a deal believed to be worth around US$1 million a month.
Jet Airways will be leasing three of its Boeing B777-300ERs to Thai Airways under a ?dry lease?, or a lease without insurance, support equipment or crew.
?Jet Airways has worked with a focused approach over the last two years to more closely align the airline?s deployed capacity with current demand, streamlining costs in the process,? said Nikos Kardassis, Jet Airways CEO.
?The leasing of three of our wide-body B777-300ER aircraft is among the last steps to fully achieving this objective.?
At the moment Jet Airways has also leased four other 777-300 ER aircraft with Turkish Airlines.
The new agreement between Jet Airways and Thai Airways is set to last three years.
