Thai university ties up with IATA

BANGKOK, 23 November 2012: Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University was recently appointed as an IATA Authorised Training Centre to provide international standard education to students from Thailand and neighbouring countries.

The courses  will begin next year offering training in travel and tourism; aviation and cargo at three levels; elementary, intermediate and advance. Subjects will also be integrated into the college’s related bachelor degree courses.

The International College offers a bachelor degree English programme that covers airline business, tourism management, hotel and restuarant business and hospitality and tourism management.

Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University president, Assoc.Prof.Dr Chuangchot Bhuntuvech said: “The certificate will lift the profile of the students when they graduate and help them to secure a higher salary… these courses were offered only in Singapore. Being able to study in their home country will definitely save costs and help to build a quality workforce.”

The university will move its International College to a new campus in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom province by the end of 2013.

The International College will then occupy an area of around 20,000 sqm with facilities such as flight stimulators for pilot training courses by 2014 as well as courses on airport management.

The first batch of 40 aviation students graduated this year, but the number should increase to 120 next year. There were 20 students who graduated in tourism and 30 in hospitality and tourism management.

The fee per semester for  bachelor programmes is Bt35,000 for Airline Business; Bt30,000 for Tourism Industry as well as Hospitality and Tourism Management.
