Tourism Malaysia has appointed Global Tourism Interface (GTI) as the new PR agency for Australia, effective immediately.

GTI has been appointed to develop an annual public relations programme to promote Malaysia?s diverse attractions to the Australian media.

Shahrin Mokhtar, director Tourism Malaysia Sydney, says that along with their public relations expertise GTI has been appointed for their in-depth knowledge of the travel industry and ability to harness online and social networking opportunities.

?Public Relations is a key part of the overall marketing strategy for Tourism Malaysia and we are looking forward to a successful partnership with GTI,? said Shahrin.

?With beautiful islands, adventure, family resorts and city breaks, Malaysia has a remarkably diverse range of product and experiences. An effective public relations programme is essential to communicate this diversity to the media.?

GTI will be responsible for maintaining an active press office and rolling out an extensive media familiarisation programme for Tourism Malaysia. Their strategy will also embrace promotions, social networking and online opportunities.

?Along with undertaking traditional PR, GTI will support Tourism Malaysia to effectively use social networking forums and identify non-traditional promotional partnerships. The team?s fresh ideas, enthusiasm and creativity will prove very valuable to Tourism Malaysia,? said Shahrin.
