As part of a deal signed between Cambodia and China, a group of officials from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture has started a study on improving the modernisation of the local agricultural sector.
Local officials said the study is in line with the national strategy to modernise the local agriculture industry and meet demands from international buyers.
As agreed on a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this year, the Chinese team will conduct studies in 12 Cambodian provinces with the support of local agriculture officials.
“The chosen provinces are areas that have particularly high potential when it comes to exporting to China”, Hean Vanhan, director of the General Directorate of Agriculture, said yesterday.
