New head at hotel: Fresh boss for Sofitel

THE capital’s Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra hotel announced on Friday the appointment of a new general manager.

French national Charles-Henri Chevet will fill the role following the relocation of previous general manager Didier Lamoot to Sofitel’s property at Bora Bora, in Tahiti.

Chevet has previously worked at the Siem Reap-based Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort.

“Siem Reap is the great proving ground in Cambodia,” he said in a press release. 

“Phnom Penh is a great attraction for entirely another reason – because we’ve only laid the foundation of the destination it’s yet to become, both for leisure and corporate travellers.”
