Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department continuously improve cooperation with several countries which joined in the 2011 Asian Network of Major Cities (ANMC) in order to introduce tourism and culture potential of Jakarta city. Through this forum, tourism potential will be promoted to Europe, United State, Oceania and Asia regions.
Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, Arie Budhiman said that Jakarta city became host in the implementation of the Council for Promotion of Tourist in Asia (CPTA) of 2011 Meeting and Exhibition. The event is a meeting forum from the result of 2001 Tokyo Declaration and as 21 ANMC Organization. “It aims to improve cooperation in tourism sector through the effort to improve network, exchange of information, coordination and submission of tourism image from each city to be promoted in an integrated way to Europe, United State, Oceania and Asia,” he stated, Sunday (10/16).
Jakarta Provincial Government itself is involved in the forum since 2002 at Tokyo, Japan. Furthermore, CPTA members consists of 8 state capitals, namely Jakarta, Tokyo, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, New Delhi, Seoul, and Taipei.
He said in the meeting which was held on October 13-15 yesterday, it was resulted several declaration points, such as tourism promotion boards in Asia to achieve welfare and development for tourism network which consist of nine cities, namely Bangkok, New Delhi, Hanoi, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.
Meanwhile, a joint project to be implemented is tourism promotion through production and relevant item usage, promotion in media format, utilizing cities member image, and tourism monitor planning. For the next meeting will be held in Hanoi in 2012. Later on, each city will try to promote the exchange of trip between cities member,” he stated.
